I am…Broken

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” Matthew 5:3 NLT
In Christ we are on the path to completion. He not just fills in our gaps, but recreates us from our broken state.
First we must recognize that we come to Him broken. We do not remain broken, in spirit, as he heals us and makes us whole, but in that our own fleshly desires are broken.
We as believers do not get saved, have redemption, and then return torunningthe show. We must recognize that to a certain extent in Christ we remain broken to our will and complete in His.

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Luke 6:27-28
One of the most difficult commands in scripture is for Christians to love their enemies. Many of us have experienced unjust situations, and yet Jesus is very clear that we are to love those who hurt and mistreat us.
Jesus tells us that God’s love does not discriminate between those who are good and those who are bad. Loving our enemies is no easy task, yet as followers of Jesus that is what we are called to do. Our love should reflect the love that God has for each person.
Few things to ponder on…
Who are the people in my life that I consider enemies or persecutors?
What must I let go of in order to love them…
