2 Cor. 2:14-16 ¶ But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

You ever wonder about this verse in the Bible, what is Paul talking about? Actually he is comparing Christ’s triumph in our lives to the practice of the Roman armies after a great victory. The conquering Roman general would be the honored guest, much like a king in a Mardi Gras parade, and would be celebrated through the streets of vanquished city. Learning from those who have gone before you is the best way to avoid the mistakes of the past. 


Our choices or the actions of others can make us feel alone. Even God may seem distant. That’s when we need to remind us of his promise that he will NEVER leave us. Not only is he always by your side, he takes joy in your presence.


A fortress withstands attacks from physical and natural forces. A refuge allows us to rest in peace and safety. Jehovah Jireh provides both protection and peace in our daily journey. No matter what you are facing, you can trust him to see you through.


Confidence is easy when the enemy is weak. But when the enemy seems insurmountable, then confidence in yourself can be tricky. However, when your confidence is in Jehovah God, then no battle need worry us. In him and through him we are mighty conquerors.
