“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Isaiah 43:18

My dear child,

Let me give you brand new desires. Forget the former things. Let’s start all over again. The old has gone. The past has passed. There’s nothing you could do about it now. But you can do something today.

Look at me. Focus your eyes on me. I am your God… and NO other. Run towards me. Listen to my voice and follow me.

I got you. You’re no longer lost. You are found.

I will take care of you, feed you, protect you and heal your wounds. It’s all going to be alright. You’re in a safe place now.

Rest.

With all my love,

Father God.

C.S. Lewis

“[E]very time you make a choice you are turning the central part of you, the part of you that chooses, into something a little different than it was before. And taking your life as a whole, with all your innumerable choices, all your life long you are slowly turning this central thing into a heavenly creature or a hellish creature: either into a creature that is in harmony with God, and with other creatures, and with itself, or else into one that is in a state of war and hatred with God, and with its fellow creatures, and with itself. To be the one kind of creature is heaven: that is, it is joy and peace and knowledge and power. To be the other means madness, horror, idiocy, rage, impotence, and eternal loneliness. Each of us at each moment is progressing to the one state of the other.”

The past can cripple us, the future can paralyze us. But through the power of the Holy Spirit we press on knowing our destiny is secure.

Peace with God (holiness) leads to peace with others which leads to peace with self.

Those who completely sell out to Christ know tough times will come, but in those times he shows himself faithful and strong. In the good times we can rejoice in our blessings. In the tough times we rejoice in the comfort of his love and mercy he has proven himself faithful. His love and mercy are new every morning.
